* Il Fimbulwinter è, nella mitologia norrena, uno dei segni che annunceranno la venuta del Ragnarök, la fine del mondo. Consiste in un primo inverno che avrà la durata di ben tre anni, senza altre stagioni in mezzo, in cui il Sole non darà né luce né calore. Seguirà quindi un secondo inverno di altri tre anni, in cui tutti i legami sociali cadranno in rovina.
** Yggdrasil è l’albero cosmico, l’albero del mondo.
