The calling – Fates Warning

The calling (Il richiamo) è la traccia numero due del primo album dei Fates Warning, Night on Bröcken, pubblicato il 9 settembre del 1984. Secondo miti irlandesi e sassoni, la banshee è uno spirito, avente le forme e le fattezze d’una giovane e bella donna, che si lega a delle famiglie e le protegge. Quando un membro di suddetta famiglia è in proncinto di morire oppure è già trapassato, la banshee crolla in un pianto disperato e perenne. Solitamente viene identificata a torto come uno spirito maligno, mentre nel folklore irlandese è ritenuta un essere neutrale, eccetto che con le famiglie protette.
