The revanchist – Trivium

The revanchist (Il revanscista) è la traccia numero dieci dell’ottavo album dei Trivium, The Sin And The Sentence, pubblicato il 20 ottobre del 2017. Per revanscismo (dal francese revanche, “rivincita”) si definisce una corrente di pensiero a carattere nazionalista diffusasi all’interno dell’opinione pubblica francese nel tardo XIX secolo in seguito alla sconfitta nella guerra franco-prussiana che determinò la caduta del regime imperiale di Napoleone III, con la successiva stesura del Trattato di Francoforte del 1871 le cui imposizioni, misero a dura prova il morale della popolazione francese.
