Ride the wave

I am alone again
An island separates me from my home
and then you pull me closer
And you tell me to control myself
An inlet with no shore
Temper the glass again
We speak in metaphors

If the sentence is right
Why does my body interfere?
Like a thief in the night
To steal the stars when they appear
No constellations guide me here
A voice inside me screaming

Ride the wave like
a message in a bottle
For the only words I ever wanna hear
I will wait with the syllables I swallow
Bitter taste until they disappear

Remove the salt from my veins
No navigation or soul to blame
The ink is poison in my brain

If the sentence is right,
why does my body disappear?
If I turn out the lights
then they can listen to me
