Waterloo – Iced Earth

Waterloo è la traccia numero dieci del settimo album degli Iced Earth, The Glorious Burden, uscito il 12 gennaio del 2004. La battaglia di Waterloo (denominata inizialmente dai francesi battaglia di Mont Saint-Jean e dai prussiani battaglia di Belle-Alliance) si svolse il 18 giugno 1815 durante la guerra della settima coalizione fra le truppe francesi guidate da Napoleone e gli eserciti britannico del Duca di Wellington e prussiano del feldmaresciallo Gebhard Leberecht von Blücher. Fu l’ultima battaglia di Napoleone e segnò la sua definitiva sconfitta.

Quickly the allies gather force
Near the Franco Belgian line
While 124,000 French

As the battle begins
Napoleon springs his audacious plan

Most of their force is still intact
and will live to fight again

Wellington, who felt the loss
of 5,000 men
Would feel more under killing fire
bombardment from the French

Le grida del raduno annunciano
che la rivoluzione è di nuovo qui
